Grants & Eligibility
How do I know which ECGRA grant is right for my project?
Use the Find the Right Grant guide to compare your organization, project and funding needs with ECGRA’s funding areas. Always review the current program guidelines before applying.
Who can apply for an ECGRA grant?
Eligibility varies by program. Many programs accept applications from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations, municipalities or municipal authorities serving Erie County. Some opportunities have more specific applicant, partnership or location requirements.
Does my project have to be located in Erie County?
ECGRA funding is intended to benefit Erie County. Review the program guidelines for specific location, headquarters or service-area requirements.
Can an individual or business apply directly?
Most ECGRA grant programs are not open to individual applicants directly. Some support and financing is provided for homeowners and small business through ECGRA’s partner organizations rather than through direct grants.
Do I need matching funds?
Some programs require a documented cash match, while others do not. Review the current program guidelines to confirm the amount required and which funding sources may qualify.
How does ECGRA funding benefit Erie County residents beyond grant recipients?
ECGRA invests local share gaming revenue in projects and programs that create broader benefits throughout Erie County. These investments support public spaces, municipal services, business growth, cultural and recreational opportunities, education and other initiatives that strengthen the county’s economy and quality of life.
Pennsylvania also uses a separate portion of gaming revenue to provide school property tax relief through the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion program. This relief is not administered by ECGRA. For approved properties, it appears as a reduction on the school property tax bill.
APPLICATION PROCESS
What should I do before beginning an application?
Confirm your eligibility, review the program guidelines and gather the required organizational, project and budget information.
What materials will I need?
Requirements vary by program. Applications may request organizational information, a project description, a detailed budget, a project timeline, proof of matching funds, partner commitments or other supporting documents.
When are applications due, and when will funding decisions be announced?
Deadlines and anticipated award dates vary by program. Check the Grant Calendar and current program guidelines for the latest information.
Where do I apply?
Applications are submitted through ECGRA’s online Grant Portal unless the program instructions provide a different process.
What happens after I submit my application?
ECGRA will review the application according to the program’s evaluation and approval process. Applicants will receive updates using the contact information associated with their application.

AWARDS & GRANTEE REQUIREMENTS
If my application is approved, when can I begin spending grant funds?
Review your grant agreement before beginning work or incurring expenses. The agreement will identify the approved project period, eligible costs and other funding conditions.
How do I acknowledge ECGRA funding?
Follow the logo, signage and recognition requirements outlined in your grant agreement and ECGRA’s Grantee Resources. Use the ECGRA logo as provided and do not alter its colors, proportions or design. Proper recognition helps show how local share gaming revenue is invested throughout Erie County and is an important grantee responsibility.
When are progress or closeout reports due?
Reporting schedules vary by grant program and agreement. Check your signed grant agreement and Grant Portal account for the deadlines that apply to your award.
What if my project scope, budget or schedule changes?
Contact ECGRA before making a significant change to an approved project. Written approval may be required before funds can be used differently than described in the grant agreement.

I cannot access my account. What should I do?
